Their character arcs ultimately led to the acceptance of a situation and the recognizing their own agency (whatever little or great amount they had). They don't have the most depth or change which led to some frustration, but in the end I realized it felt right. I don't blame them they're figuring out a world that cannot be logically explained, so it's expected they would fumble. They almost never made the right decision, but as someone like Tamaru would say "Is there ever a right decision". One-Dimensional Characters: I thought Aomame and Tengo were intriguing people. Here are some points I wanted to mention: After a couple hours googling and redditing, I was surprised at some criticisms, and at the same time agreed with some points. This is my first novel by him, and I wanted to know what experienced readers thought of it. I just finished Murakami's "magnum opus" last night.
